Marliese R. Peltier

Marliese R. Peltier, PhD, received her doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education with a specialization in Language and Literacy from Michigan State University. Her research examines how teachers understand and enact teaching practices that (dis)connect students’ home and school literacy practices. Peltier has been published in Reading and Writing Quarterly: Overcoming Learning Difficulties, and Literacy Practice and Research. She has co-authored a chapter in the Handbook of Research on Reading Comprehension, 2nd edition. Marliese is a former special education teacher, having provided both resource room and teacher consultant supports.
