Social media movements such as #WeNeedDiverseBooks have drawn increased attention to the lack of representation in children’s literature. Publishers heeded the call and classroom libraries grew more inclusive.
At this ILA Intensive, hosted by Dr. Tiffany A. Flowers, we’ll focus on the next step: incorporating culturally relevant and responsive children’s literature in meaningful ways. The event features 20+ authors through a mix of live and asynchronous sessions, panels, conversations, and keynotes. Participants will take away concrete ideas on how to do this important work, instead of simply hearing about why it’s important in the first place.
