Media-fueled debates about the source of children’s early reading
difficulties and what should be done to address them can create
confusion by oversimplifying the issue. The result? Unproductive
conversations that shed more heat than light. In this ILA at Home event,
Marjorie Y. Lipson, Jeanne R. Paratore, and Victoria J. Risko will
review key research on reading difficulties and outline what we can do
to improve outcomes for all students.
