Advancing Writing Instruction, Ages 9–12

As students mature, their instructional needs become more complex—and so must the programs that support their growth as writers.

This ILA Intensive focuses on strategies aligned with writing to learn. Host Steve Graham will share a framework for writing instruction that connects research and application. Scholars from across the globe will lead sessions on sentence combining, persuasive writing, strategy instruction, and peer-assisted writing and revising. Participants will gain practical ideas to help them guide students toward independence, creativity, and critical thought.
