This event was recorded on September 21, 2023. You may already have access to this session in your account. Check the My Digital Events page before purchasing.

Educators who support struggling readers beyond age 9 (grades 4 and up) need a variety of age-appropriate instructional interventions in their toolbox. In this session, Peter Afflerbach and Danielle Dennis will provide participants with rooted-in-research strategies to support adolescent struggling readers and their academic success. They will also discuss the importance of providing learning experiences that will build self-efficacy and foster independence with metacognition—which in turn will result in more motivated, engaged, and confident students.
