Barbara Wasik

Barbara Wasik is a PNC Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Education in the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University in Pennsylvania. Her area of research is early language and literacy interventions for children who are at risk for school failure. Her work has focused on children in low-resourced communities with the goal of trying to help close the achievement gap with successful interventions. Wasik has extensive experience in program and curriculum development and, along with her colleague Annemarie Hindman, she has developed and implemented two evidence-based language and literacy professional development interventions for early childhood teachers.
