Molly Ness began her teaching career as a Teach For America corps member and 6th grade teacher in Oakland, California. She earned a doctorate in Reading Education from the University of Virginia. Since 2006, she has been a teacher educator and associate professor at Fordham University. She is the author of four books and multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research focuses on reading comprehension, teachers’ instructional decisions and beliefs, dyslexia, and word knowledge. In 2019, Molly began the End Book Deserts podcast to bring attention to the issue of book access and equity.
