Aileen Hower

Aileen Hower is an associate professor of literacy and the graduate coordinator for the Masters in Language and Literacy program at Millersville University in Pennsylvania, where she also runs an annual Summer Literacy Institute on writing. Hower graduated with her doctorate in Reading/Language Arts Leadership with a Literacy Coaching endorsement from Widener University. She is a National Writing Project Fellow through the Capital Area Writing Project at Penn State Harrisburg and the ILA coordinator for and a past president of the Keystone State Literacy Association (KSLA), a state affiliate of the International Literacy Association. She also serves as a cochair of the Keystone to Reading Book Awards and is the treasurer for KSLA York Adams, a local chapter of KSLA. Hower was appointed to the ILA National Recognition reviewer team for the Reading/Literacy Specialist and the Elementary/Intermediate Classroom Teacher Preparation Programs. She is a proud member of the ILA Administrator Task Force and has been an ad hoc reviewer for Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy.
