Lynne R. Dorfman is on the leadership team for the West Chester Writing Project in Pennsylvania and has been an adjunct professor at Arcadia University for the past 24 years. She enjoys her work as a coeditor of Pennsylvania Reads, the journal of the Keystone State Literacy Association (KSLA), and she currently serves as copresident of KSLA Brandywine/Valley Forge.
Dorfman is past president of Eta, a chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, and a coauthor of many books including Grammar Matters: Lessons, Tips, and Conversations Using Mentor Texts, K-6, A Closer Look: Learning More About Our Students With Formative Assessment, K-6, and Welcome to Writing Workshop. Her newest book, Welcome to Reading Workshop, will be out in August 2023. She is currently working on a book on student reflection with a team of educators.
Dorfman has conducted staff development workshops in many surrounding Pennsylvania counties and districts. She has a reading specialist certificate from LaSalle University and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Immaculata University. She spent 38 years in Upper Moreland Township School District as a classroom teacher, teacher of gifted education (K–5), writing coach, literacy coach and reading specialist, and staff developer. She serves as an independent literacy consultant for grades K–8 and enjoys coming to classrooms to model writing and reading lessons, coteach, and/or coach.
